So, it seems that with Unity it's actually easier to create higher end models and animate them with the inbuilt systems than do blocky/voxel type stuff. I've evolved the idea to be a low poly thing - and messing around with lighting options. Above is my favourite so far with really good performance.

I took this photo the other day from my office window and quite like it so thought I'd share! That's Canary Wharf glowing and reflecting the sun.

Legend of Fangury 3D Test Environment Render

So, taking the idea of turning these test models into a game, decided to do a quick render from Unity. 1st problems apparent - looks like you can only have 3 materials per object on import so probably need to investigate UV mapping/textures etc (had been avoiding that one), and there's a whole host of other issues. Still, an interesting start!

2nd 3d test and upload to sketchfab

This is starting to look like the beginnings of a voxel type game...

First 3D test and upload to Sketchfab

Oh man, I'm rubbish at this whole blogging thing. Must try harder. If I'm honest, I'm not a huge fan of the whole public arena thing - no problem sharing works, but tapping out thoughts all seems a bit weird. Anyhow, that said, thought I'd share my first upload to Sketchfab. And promise to blog more...
